Sound familiar?

Most trainers tell you what to do. Tim teaches you how, and why.

“All in the details,” Tim says. “Most trainers do not know, let alone, teach.” His clients came to him after training on their own or with someone who just counted reps. Here's what they told us, in their words:

  • I used to have to take one step at a time going up and down steps… Doug W., 69
  • As I aged, I was using lighter and lighter weights to protect my shoulder. Dan S., 77
  • Most trainers just tell you to do an exercise but don't explain why. Ryan M., 21
  • …a woman in my 40s who had 3 large babies and who can't handle a lot of jumping and jarring… Amanda B., 45

Tim's answer is the same for everyone: learn to do it right, build it step by step, and keep at it. This isn't about building a perfect body. It's about building a better life.

The method

How Tim builds your program: four pillars

Every program addresses mind, body and spirit, and every one is built on the same four pillars. That's how Tim can coach a 23-year-old and a 93-year-old, and both get results.

  1. Foundation

    Create

Tim gathers everything about you: goals, history, injuries, daily patterns. Then he designs a program for your body alone.

  2. Teaching & learning

    Facilitate

Specific technique, posture and body mechanics, taught until the mind–muscle connection clicks. You learn the why behind every movement.

  3. Goal attainment

    Achieve

You reach the objectives you set together, while Tim spots and corrects the patterns that were holding you back.

  4. Sustainable success

    Maintain

The do's and don'ts that keep you moving forward, with adjustments when life changes and your progress tracked over time.

After 12 workouts, I noticed a difference. I was lifting heavier weights than usual with no shoulder pain.

— Dan S., age 77

The encouragement, explanations and customized exercise program according to my current needs has improved my health.

— Deborah S., age 72

He has consistently challenged me, yet always been cognizant of my joints or pain points. I have gained so much strength and CONFIDENCE since starting a year ago.

— Amanda B., age 45

Tim Underwood: still training the way he teaches

Tim has 50 years of experience, and a better way of looking at things. At 66, he still trains the way he teaches.

Questions people ask before they start

How much does personal training cost at All Points Fitness?

The first consultation is free. Fit 4 Life (12 weeks: 8 private sessions with Tim, then 4 semi-private sessions) is $2,400. Semi-private training (eight 60-minute sessions a month) runs $450 to $600 a month depending on how long you commit. Train to Maintain, for existing clients, is $300 a month or $400 for couples. See every price.

Why does Fit 4 Life cost $2,400?

Because you're buying Tim's 50 years of experience. Fit 4 Life is an education. Over 12 weeks you get 8 private sessions, with the whole fitness center to yourself for your time slot, in which Tim teaches you how your body works, how to train it correctly and how to eat for it. Then 4 semi-private sessions ease you into the actual training program. That knowledge goes with you anywhere. The consultation is free, so you can meet Tim before you decide.

I've never trained before, and walking into a gym is intimidating. Is this for me?

Yes. Walking into a gym is intimidating from the start, and Tim knows it. He walks you through the process step by step, starting with a free, no-pressure consultation. You never have to figure it out on your own.

Am I too old or too out of shape to start?

No. Tim's clients have ranged from 13 to 93. Every program starts from your current fitness level and your injury history, not from a template. Arden H. was still training at 93, lifting 200 pounds ten times. The CDC recommends muscle-strengthening activity at least 2 days a week for adults 65 and older (CDC, opens in a new tab).

Who will train me?

Tim Underwood, the owner and master trainer, designs and coaches every program personally. He has 50 years of experience.

I have a bad shoulder, knee or back. Can I still train?

Usually, yes. Tim builds each program around your injury history, and Fit 4 Life starts with an injury assessment. Check with your doctor before you begin. All Points provides training, not medical care. How reconditioning works.

Is All Points a gym I join?

No. All Points Fitness isn't a gym you join. It's personal training with Tim at his private gym. You come in by appointment, and Tim coaches you through every session.

Where are you, and do you serve my town?
